We will cut down a live tree for the Maypole
The Maypole returns for BITG 2025!
The energy of a living tree that gives itself to the community for this ritual is much more powerful, not only for us, but also for the land the tree inhabits as well. There has been debate about the convention of the subject but rest assured that we will not deviate from this matter.

Spiral Grove Coven has consent to fell a tree given by the land owners of where this festival is located. As a way of respecting the land owners and honoring the spirit of the tree, we say thank you by donating back in kind. The donations may change given the choices of the current May Queen and King but are typically another tree.
There will be a Belfire
Saturday evening, we will extinguish all lights in the camp. The light is struck and the celebration of the union of the Goddess and her Consort begin!
The Belfire is ablaze and we all attend the festivities. Show your thanks to our Mother by dancing, singing, and making merry into the night!

There will be a Fertility Rite
In our tradition, the May Queen and her Consort, the May King, bless the land and the community through their union on Beltaine. The May Queen and her Consort are two consenting adults over the age of 18 because they are expected to privately consummate their union as the Goddess and God incarnate. Each person must decide if they are ready for this role and if it fits within the confines of any relationship they may have. We are family friendly
While the focus of this Sabbat points toward a heightened sense of sensuality and sexuality, there is more to this festival than that. No sexual acts will ever be performed in public. People under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when attending the Festival. All ages are welcome at Beltaine in the Grove and always will be!
During the day the kids can run and play or attend activities suited for them. We have a Children’s Temple, Children’s Mysteries, games, and more. Just know that when the kids go to bed, the adults are allowed to get a little bit wild!

We will have a Tantric Temple
When consenting adults wish to get wilder than the community would like, they can sneak off to the Tantric Temple which is located in a secluded area of the camp site. Though you are welcome to ask any adult to join you, please remember that no means no. Any harassment is dealt with by immediate eviction from this private festival site.

After the new May Queen has been chosen, the Temple becomes her domain until she opens it for others to use. Please respect this time.
